Temporary Secretary

A few weeks back i discovered an online treasure trove under the name of Temporary Secretary. After a little natter we decided that it would be nice to take part in a little swap shop/ photo shoot, how exciting!

The brainchild behind the awesome brand Temporary Secretary is a lovely lady named Sarah. Sarah now stocks a huge range of handmade kitsch and vintage jewellery and accessories each hand picked with its own sense of humour and charming character.

I have spent some time deciding on how to photograph the pieces in order to do them the justice they deserve. I have to say, this is a jewellery first. I was so excited when my little packages arrived, i couldn't wait to wear them let alone take photos of them. Hopefully this swap works well for the both of us, i feel that our customers and followers will definitely have mutual tastes and style and hopefully our handmade products will reach a larger audience.

The packages contained a beautiful collection of necklaces, rings, accessories and stationary including a whole set of owl inspired jewellery. Very thoughtful.

So please at your own risk take a minute to stop by the Temporary Secretary shop, it is constantly updated with really unique and quirky pieces that also don't break the piggy bank but be warned in advance, you will want EVERYTHING. Sarah is a meticulous photographer with a great eye for colour and style so be sure to check out her blog too where you can also see the package that i sent.

Silken Favours

WOW, i have fallen in love with these silk scarves designed by Victoria Murdoch. I discovered them at Libertys where Victoria atteneded the open call earlier this year. I love the illustrative, hand drawn style of the designs and the cute, kitsch feel they give you, however you want to wear them :)

Presented together in Liverpool for the first time, Robert Therrien: Smoke Signals will feature a number of the artist’s large-scale sculptures alongside a selection of Therrien’s surprisingly intimate works on paper.

Landbaby

Yesterday i made a little journey up to Liverpool to deliver an order to a lovely lady with a lovely shop named Landbaby. Claire, the owner of the wonderful Landbaby, discovered Night Owl through the new facebook page, which is incredible news! I am trying my hardest to get more and more followers on there, its a really good way to keep everyone informed on offers and latest news.

So anyway, off to Liverpool we went (me & Tom) with my box of bone china. I wanted to deliver the order in person so that i knew the items arrived safely and also its always nice to meet the shop owners and have a little chinwag! The shop is located at the Bluecoat Gallery in a beautiful little courtyard, just around the corner from John Lewis.

The shop was so sweet, it only sells handmade and therefore it was full to the brim with hand stitched cushions, bunting, brooches and teacosies! Claire also runs workshops each week where people can learn different crafts and sewing projects, i wished i lived in Liverpool just for this!
