Barton under Needwood Village Hall Craft Fair

At the weekend i had a stall at the village hall in Barton under Needwood near where i used to work. Its a lovely little village here in the midlands and was really looking forward to the event. Unfortunately it wasn't a very successful day and most of the stalls were selling products that had been imported from different countries or mass produced.

There was also not many people through the door but hey ho, you live and you learn. My boy's sister Carly came with me and we had a lovely day, catching up and eating cake. We also had our picture taken for the local Burton Post, which is fab! With a few sales, it was a lovely day in the end and i managed to get some positive feedback on my new christmas designs.

Custom Wedding Present

I had an order sometime last month from my old tutor at uni to create a dinner set for her friends wedding. Altogether i made her a teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl, two plates, two bowls and two mugs. All she requested was that they featured my butterflies and bugs and that the colour scheme was kept to black and white.

Sutton Vintage and Arts Fair September 2011

In September i held a stall at Sutton Vintage and Arts Fair in Suttons Town Hall, it was an amazing day and i would like to say a big thank you to Sabina and Eve for all of their hard work and effort. The turn out was amazing and it never ceased all day, there was a constant stream of people through the door. I did really well with sales and all of my business cards went in the first two hours (i must remember to take a lot more next time). The level of quality and diversity of the stalls was really high also, there was no duplicate stalls and i just wanted to buy everything!

There was a huge amount of vintage clothing on sale in the main halls of the building and then there was a wedding section and a homewares room where i was situated, which was a lot smaller but a lovely atmosphere with retro jazz music playing throughout the day.

The next fair is in November and has a festive theme so fingers crossed i can get booked up again.

Society 6

In the last couple of weeks i have been uploading my art work onto my new Society 6 account so that you lovely people can now wear Night Owl everyday. There are iPhone skins, macbook skins, framed art prints and most importantly you can now buy tees and hoodies with your favourite Night Owl design. The hoodies and tees are all supplied from american apparel, they're really reasonable and are perfect for these coming winter months!

Here are a few of my favourites, they are available to buy here http://society6.com/Nightowl

Night Owl International

I have been extremely lucky lately to receive a number of international orders for shops overseas, Night Owl will soon be available in USA, Australia and France. When i have managed to get the orders created and ready to send, i will take a few snaps for you!

Table Top Sale

Me and momma went to a table top sale last week at a local village hall to see if we could find some bargains and with any luck some vintage china. We were amazed! It was the most mental table top sale ever, literally people were throwing things around and up in the air, crazy. Here are some of the items that we found and we only spent a ten pounds between us!

Sparrow Hawk

I have been so busy lately that i havn't had chance to update the blog at all! I have so much to tell you...

First of all i have decided to take the plunge and i have quit my part time job to go full time with Night Owl, i was struggling so much to get all of my orders done and i was so tired all of the time. So now i am putting every hour of every day into the runningof Night Owl and i love it.

My orders have picked up enormously since going full time and i have gained a few more stockists which is exciting! I have been trying my hardest to get some drawing done whilst keeping the business side running smoothly but i have only managed to start a large pencil drawing of a sparrow hawk. I wanted to work on a calendar for 2012 but at this rate, it might be a little bit of a struggle but the sparrow hawk is destined to be January if i manage to pull it off.

Greetings

I have been busying myself with a bit of painting today, which i have actually really enjoyed. I have managed to start and finish two watercoloured pieces today, a goldcrest and a big plump blue tit. After finishing these i thought id have a go at designing some greetings cards, mainly to make my stall more attractive this weekend (i have two craft fairs).

Let me know what you think of my designs so far, i've decided to add quotes to my drawings to give them a bit of character. I think i must be in a romantic mood! These cards are priced at £3.00 each which includes a white envelope and a cellophane sleeve to keep it safe on its journey in this miserable weather.

Maybe if they turn out to be quite popular, i could upscale them into A5 and A4 prints. Anyway, please let me know what you think!
